Game 5 had this fan reaching for the Percival Pepto.  It had been retired to the back of the medicine cabinet when EJax got the nod over Percy for the ALCS roster.  After a sleepless night of anticipation, I was basking in the glow of what seemed a certain Rays victory in front of a befuddled throng of Beantowners.  The script was playing out beautifully.  5-0 Rays, then they tacked on 2 more.  Youk with nowhere to throw after fielding a brilliant bunt by Carlos Pena.  Then, somewhere between the untimely appearance of Papelbon in the 7th and the 8th Viagra commercial of the night, Pedroia gets a hit, Big Papi hits a dinger and the Rays Bullpen has a trainwreck.

A T-Boning was needed, but the best we could pull off was a vintage Tampa Bay Meatloafing.  But, Two out of Three ain’t bad.  Especially if you’ve been previously passed over in the “Wants To See A Playoff Game But Is Too Cheap To Buy Season Tickets” lottery and your only hope is a Game 6 or 7 in St. Pete.  The Rays aim to please.

I will leave the in-depth dissection of What Went Wrong to my esteemed Colleague, OrlandoRays.   As the self-appointed PTown PollyAnna, I invite you all to a cyber pep rally.  Enjoy the Rays Walk Up music while you work, mop, or surf the Internet to take your mind off the stock market!

Crank it up.  Just click on the “Pop-Out Player” link below. And if you’re going to the game tomorrow, learn the lyrics and take your cowbell.  Make our underrated Trop a place only the Rays Republic can love.  I want to hear you all the way out here in California!

A few of the players’ tunes aren’t so easy to find, but here are some video links if you want to check them out:

Grant Balfour: Kind of the Mountain by Midnight Oil

J.P. Howell: Don\’t You Just Know It (Huey \”Piano\” Smith)

Kaz’:  “Knocking Doors Down” by Pimp C on You Tube.

Aki’s tune is “Hurricane” by Eikichi Yazawa.  And I can’t find it anywhere :-(   Shoot us a comment if you find it.

And, while Jonny Gomes’ tunes aren’t on the list released by The Rays, the last three are in his honor.  The Rooster.  Powerful.
