Rays Farm Report for Sunday, April 26

AAA – David Price made his fourth start for the Durham Bulls, and was relatively unimpressive.  His pitch count was limited to 75 pitches, which allowed him to go only 3 1/3 innings.  He allowed three runs on four hits (including two HR) and four walks in dropping his record to 1-2 as the Bulls lost 7-0 to Norfolk.  Durham only managed three hits offensively against Norfolk pitching.

AA – The Montgomery Biscuits lost  6-4 to the Jacksonville Suns this afternoon.  Aneury Rodriguez got the start and pitched well, allowing four hits and two runs in five innings.  Chris Mason got bombed for three runs in his only inning of relief to get tagged with the loss.  Rashad Eldridge went 3 for 5 and Desmond Jennings 2 for 5 for the Biscuits.  Jennings is now hitting .333 to start the season.

A – Charlotte scored a run in the ninth to beat St. Lucie 3-2.  Alex Cobb had a nice start, going six innings of shutout ball, allowing only three hits and a walk.  For the Stone Crabs, the winning run was generated when Ryan Royster doubled to lead off the ninth.  After a paif of intentional walks to create a double play situation, Nevin Ashley was hit by a pitch to force in the winning run.  With the win, the Stone Crabs’ record improves to 9-7, a game out of the FSL South lead.

A – Bowling Green held on to win a close one with Lexington 7-6.  Anthony Scelfo had the big hits, a solo shot in the 7th inning and run-scoring single in the 8th to score what proved to be the winning run.  Michael Sheridan also homered for the Hot Rods.  Tyree Hayes got the win in relief of Matt MooreJamie Bagley picked up his fourth save.
