AAA - The Durham Bulls lost a close one to the Norfolk Tides, 4-3 in Norfolk. Carlos Hernandez got the start, allowing three runs in five innings work. Matt Joyce was the offensive star of the game for the Bulls, going 2-4 with a double and had all three RBI.
AA – In Southern League action, the Mobile Bay Bears beat Montgomery 6-1. Ryan Morse was the starter and loser for the Biscuits, falling to 0-3 on the season. Jason Isringhausen made his second appearance at the AA level, allowing just a walk in an inning of relief. The Biscuits had only four hits on the night, two by LF Rashad Eldridge.
A – The Charlotte Stone Crabs won 2-1 over Sarasota. David Newmann got the start and the win for Charlotte, going six innings. He allowed only one run on four hits and four walks, while striking out five. Matt Gorgen picked up his third save for the Stone Crabs. Offensively, Charlotte only managed four hits and both runs scored on sacrifice flies. The Stone Crabs improve their record to 5-7.
A - Bowling Green got strong pitching from Frank De Los Santos on their way to a 5-1 win over West Virginia. De Los Santos went five shutout innings in picking up his first win of the year. LF Henry Wrigley and 1B Michael Sheridan both went 3-4 and Tim Beckham improved his batting average to .320 on the season with a 2-4 night, including a double.
