AAA – The Durham Bulls got back in the win column by beating the Charlotte Knights 8-2 behind strong pitching by James Houser and three relievers.  Houser went five innings, allowing two runs on five hits.  Jason Isringhausen made his second appearance for the Bulls, allowing two hits and no runs in one inning of relief.  The Bulls offense flexed their muscle with HR’s by Justin Ruggiano (3), Reid Brignac (2), and Chris Richard (5).  Matt Joyce and Chris Nowak added a couple of hits a piece.  Durham is now 15-10 on the season.

AA -  The Montgomery Biscuits blasted Birmingham 12-2 Tuesday night.  But, it may have come at a cost.  Starter Jeremy Hellickson was injured in the second inning on a pick-off move to first.  The injury is being called a “supraspinatus sprain” of his right, throwing shoulder.  Word from Montgomery is that he will most likely miss his next scheduled start.  Brandon Mann replaced him pitching three innings to pick up the win.  Desmond Jennings once again led the offense, going 2-3 with a triple and 3 RBI.  Rashad Eldridge, Drew Anderson and Fernando Cortez also had two hits a piece for the Biscuits.

A – The Charlotte Stone Crabs shutout Jupiter 6-0 on Tuesday night.  If you’re looking for Hellickson’s replacement in Montgomery, he was probably pitching last night for the Stone Crabs.  Darin Downs improved his record to 5-0 with a 1.34 ERA in pitching 8 innings of four-hit ball.  He walked none and struck out six.  At the plate, CF Pedro Powell went 3-4 and Matt Fields, Emeel Salem and Shawn Williams added a couple of hits a piece.

A – Bowling Green split a doubleheader with Rome, losing the first game 6-4, but coming back to win the night cap 3-2.  In the first game, the losing pitcher was Frank De Los Santos, who gave up five runs (two earned) on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings.  The Hot Rods pounded out three triples by Tim Beckham, Henry Wrigley and Isaias Velasquez.

In Game 2, Joe Cruz pitched 4 2/3 of shutout innings to start the game, striking out seven.  Chris Andujar relieved him and was credited with the win.  He is now 3-2.  Jamie Bagley pitched the final inning to pick up his 6th save.  Tim Beckham completed a good afternoon, hitting his 2nd HR of the season.  For the day, Beckham was 4-7.
