AAA – The Durham Bulls scored four in the top of the ninth to come back and beat Pawtucket 5-4. Starting pitcher Matt DeSalvo had a nice game, throwing five shutout innings while allowing just one hit. But, Joe Bateman relieved him and promptly gave up three runs in 1 1/3 innings. Calvin Medlock, making his first appearance of the season with Durham, was credited with the win. Winston Abreu notched his tenth save. 2B Henry Mateo was 3 for 5 at the plate and Rashad Eldridge and Ray Olmedo had two hits a piece for the Bulls.
AA – The Montgomery Biscuits and the Birmingham Barons played nine scoreless innings. But, the Biscuits scored three in the tenth to beat the Barons 3-0. Starting pitcher Heath Rollins pitched seven innings, allowing just three hits. At the plate, Desmond Jennings and Fernando Cortez recorded two hits a piece to lead the Biscuits.
A – The Charlotte-Brevard County game was rained out.
A – Bowling Green broke a 7-7 tie in the ninth by scoring three and held on to beat Asheville 10-8. Tim Beckham had perhaps his best game of his young career, going 4-4 with a couple of doubles and an RBI. And, 1B Henry Wrigley drove in four, including the decisive 3-run HR in the ninth to lead the Hot Rods. Starting pitcher Shane Dyer was rocked for five runs on ten hits in his 4 1/3 innings of work.
