As most of you know, the Rays sent Scott Kazmir to the Angels in one of the biggest trades in franchise history. Well, Kazmir has made one start in an Angels uniform and he went 6.1 innings while allowing only one earned against the always tough Felix Hernandez. He will be pitching again tonight in his first start in Angel Stadium against the Mariners again. He, once again, draws King Felix. We will see if he can give the Angels a good start and make us regret trading Kaz. Kazmir is truly a class act and he will be missed by all Rays fans. I will be rooting for him and the Angels for this years playoffs and hope he can beat up on the Red Sox and Yankees.
He published a thank you add in today’s St. Petersburg Times.
An excerpt:
“Now, as I move to the next chapter in my life and career, I want to that you, the fans, for all your support and your continued support of the Rays.
I would also like to thank the Rays’ organization, management, my former teammates, and the media, all of whom have been a part of this journey and it’s memories.”
Good luck Kaz, we miss you. You will always be better than Batting Practice Sonnanstine.
