Devon, I just think the way your article came out it sounds almost like a comparison by bringing up Evan’s awards. You’re right, they both deserved awards. I just took your article the wrong way. CC never stood out to me near as much as Evan but based on his stats he certainly deserved it for his position.

Sorry people I agree with him. CC GOT ROBBED!!!!! Evan is a great player but CC SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO deserved & so did Evan. If I could give the GG to either Evan or Carl, I would give it to Carl. Hope he stays around longer than just this year…..

The sad fact of the matter is that CC will not get any love anytime soon. He is GREATLY over looked, but in the breathe known by almost everyone in baseball. Carl doesn’t leap over wall, he dives, chases down balls, cuts triples into doubles, cuts doubles in to singles, and cuts singles into outs. He is not the “sexy” choice like Jones, Hunter or Ichiro. Let’s be honest, over the last few year we have seen a few the Rays get short changed for gold gloves or silver sluggers.

I did not say at all that Longo did not deserve his awards. I am happy that he won and the Rays were recognized once again. That said, Longo winning does not effect whether CC can win the award. They play DIFFERENT POSITIONS. It doesn’t have to be over CC. They both could’ve won. CC deserved the award more than Torii Hunter and Adam Jones because he played good defense all year.

As awesome as CC is, Longoria more than earned both awards and yes… over CC.
