According to the Heater, Andrew Friedman is not even thinking of trading Carl Crawford. Friedman says “both sides have stated the goal is for him (CC) to be here long term.” This is great news for Rays fans, since CC is great for the team and is one of the best outfielders in the league. If the Rays can get him signed long term, that would mean the Rays have CC, Longo, James Shields, and David Price under team control for many years to come. The core of the franchise would be around for a while.
After the Rays sign CC long term, you could see them try to get Garza in a long term deal.
