  • Starter Heath Phillips allowed three runs on six hits over 6 2/3 innings to even his record at 3-3.

Double-A Montgomery Biscuits (19-16, 2nd place)lost to Birmingham, 7-4

  • Starter Jeremy Hall allowed six runs on seven hits in just three innings of work.
  • Chris Nowak hit his second home run of the season.
  • Nevin Ashley was 3-4, having a single, double, and triple in the game.

Single-A Charlotte Stone Crabs (18-17, 3rd place)shut out Palm Beach, 4-0

  • Starter Chris Andujar pitched a gem, allowing no runs on one hit in 8 1/3 innings.  He is now 3-1 with a 2.63 ERA.
  • Tim Beckham hit a two-run home run, his third on the season.
  • Matt Sweeney slugged home run #6.

Single-A Bowling Green Hot Rods (11-25, last place)lost to Lansing 4-3

  • The Hot Rods gave up all four runs in the top of the eighth inning as reliever Deivis Mavarez allowed all runs in his two innings of work.
  • Kyle Lobstein pitched six shutout innings, allowing just two hits and there walks while striking out five.
  • Dustin Biell and Robi Estrada each had two hits for the Hot Rods.
