Most fittingly, I will start the reviews with the team MVP as voted by the Baseball Writers Assosiation of America. Bartlett was acquired last offseason with Matt Garza as a part of the trade that sent Brendan Harris, Delmon Young and Jason Pridie to the Twins. Bartlett was a great player, but could not find his power stroke until late August, when he hit his first homer. He had a respectable .286 Average this year, which is more than we expected out of him at the beginning of the year. He did only end up with the one home run, but he has never showed great power numbers. The most bombs he has ever hit in a MLB season was 5. JB was a threat on the bases. He stole 20 and was only caught 6 times.
Bartlett was a resident of the spectacular play defense that we owned last season. He has such great range at short and makes diving stops, which is the only reason he commits a lot of errors. He made 16 errors in the season, which is 10 less than the 26 he made in 2007. He owned a .970 fielding percentage which is very respectable. Along with the rest of the infield, he saved a lot of runs for the pitchers, which they definately appreciated.
More Season in review to come, along with Player report cards and other articles.
